Situation is diffused

Somewhat it seems . I am happy the interim style gov't Kyrgyzstan seems only able to endure, has rather diffused the chaos by compromising.
Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev signs a new constitution in Bishkek November 9, 2006. Bakiyev on Thursday signed a new constitution that will reduce his powers, a climbdown that defused a political crisis which had brought thousands of opposition protesters onto the streets. Bakiyev signed the constitution in front of reporters ending a tense week of pressure by the opposition that had staged mass protests threatening the Central Asian state's fragile stability. Akayev was betting on this to fail and for Mother Russia to have to come to the aide of Kyrgyzstan and possibally re-instate a pro-russian puppet.
Now not so much.
